DISTANCE: 16.6 light years from Sol

NEIGHBORING SYSTEMS: Altair 7.8 lys  61 Cygni 13.7 lys  Alpha Centauri 16 lys

70 OPHIUCHI is a binary star system consisting of a yellow main-sequence primary and a smaller orange dwarf companion in a highly elliptical orbit with an average distance between them of 23 AUs.  Both stars have high metallicity levels and the entire region is rich in Virellium ore.

70 Ophiuchi A has five planets in orbit and a sparse field of rocky debris at the distant edge of the system which is believed to be the remnants of worlds that were ripped apart by gravitational forces early in their development.

70 Ophiuchi B has several small planetoids orbiting within a large field of dust and icy debris.
